youth
forum

Young people from all five regions of Campinas mobilised in civic training, with support from the FEAC Foundation — democracy exercised day to day, from the quebradas to the councils.

Young Youth Forum participants gathered in an activity

Democracy is not only a form of government but a value that must be present in everyone’s daily life. For that, it is essential to recognise the differences between people and to seek the good of all. Yet social, economic, racial and gender inequalities are major barriers to that happening.

Beyond public investment, it matters to create more spaces for participation, such as councils and forums, so that young people take part in decision-making and practise democratic culture. Fostering political education, social participation and dialogue between generations builds a fairer, more democratic society.

The Youth Forum equipped young people in Campinas to act in political decisions, offering training and spaces for dialogue. With a focus on diversity and equity, the programme fostered civic participation and mapped local initiatives, strengthening the social impact of young people.
