We women built the base technologies behind Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, wrote the first program in history, and even helped NASA put the first man on the Moon.
Casa Hacker and PPG Brasil are excited about the innovations and technologies that women and girls can build in the decades ahead, and believe in the potential of women leading science and technology worldwide.
Women’s digital empowerment
Minas em Tech is a Casa Hacker project in partnership with PPG Brasil, offering a free technology course for girls in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of secondary school. The course runs all year in Sumaré (São Paulo State) and teaches programming, 3D printing, robotics and artificial intelligence — 3 classes per week, from March to December 2025.
And it is born of an uncomfortable statistic — Brazil ranks between 64th and 67th in the world for women choosing STEM careers — and of a conviction that drives us: this is not a lack of talent, it is a lack of open doors.
Who can take part?
Girls in secondary school who live in Sumaré (São Paulo State).
Casa Hacker was born in the periphery of Campinas (São Paulo State) and knows the reality of accessing digital education, which is usually expensive and usually absent from the periphery.
In this edition, Minas em Tech takes place in Sumaré (São Paulo State), in Matão, to technologically emancipate women and girls in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics — because being a woman in science and technology is a challenge (in Portuguese).
How far can the programme take me?
The sky is the limit. With a STEAM-based curriculum (Arts, Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), you will learn the fundamentals to create and innovate with digital transformation technologies.
In the programme you will sharpen your skills with computers and operating systems, protect your digital privacy, and develop apps, electronic automations and Internet of Things projects. You will also learn to model and print in 3D, apply design thinking, improve your communication, develop leadership, grow your creativity and build a strong CV to go after new opportunities.

Classes are at E. E. Maria de Lourdes Martins — Rua Osvaldo Vacari, 777 – Jardim Maria Antonia (Nova Veneza), Sumaré – SP, 13178-374. The programme runs in partnership with the school: the school neither delivers the project nor holds responsibility for it.
