On 5 November 2025, Minas em Tech, an initiative of Casa Hacker in partnership with PPG Brasil, was featured on the programme Mulher.com, on Rede Século 21. The appearance was part of the show’s Block 2 and addressed a subject central to the project: the importance of access to STEAM education for girls in public schools.
STEAM is the English acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. By bringing these fields together, Minas em Tech seeks not only to build technical knowledge, but also to foster critical thinking, creativity and autonomy among girls and young women studying in public schools.
The interview featured:
- Aliene Villaça – Teacher and STEAM Pedagogical Coordinator
- Ludmilla Mendes de Almeida – Former student of the project
Over the course of the conversation (available from the 27-minute mark of the programme), Aliene told the story of her own path through STEAM, starting in the public education system in Minas Gerais, and underlined how STEAM training spaces can widen professional and academic horizons for girls who often do not picture themselves in scientific or technological careers.
Ludmilla, in turn, shared her journey as a participant in the project and how that experience helped broaden her outlook on the future. Her presence reinforces one of the pillars of Minas em Tech: when girls have access to quality training opportunities, they become the protagonists of their own stories.

By taking this debate onto free-to-air television, Casa Hacker underlines the urgency of
- Democratising access to STEAM education for public-school students;
- Confronting gender inequalities in the fields of science and technology;
- Strengthening policies and initiatives that bring girls closer to content, tools and positive role models in this field.
Visibility on a programme such as Mulher.com helps widen the reach of this message, raise awareness among educators, families and public administrators, and create support networks so that more girls can see themselves as scientists, programmers, engineers, artists and researchers.
