Peripheral intelligence is the engine driving the development of the Campo Grande district of Campinas (São Paulo State). Made up of a network of collectives, leaders, groups and associations, this community puts at the centre the solutions created by the quebrada itself to face local challenges.
By strengthening community action led by the population itself, we drive the sustainable development of the region. It is through that union that we build a fairer, more innovative quebrada, full of positive social impact.

Built on the belief that nobody solves it better than the community itself
We at Casa Hacker created the Fundo da Quebrada — today the Active Citizenship Fund — out of one conviction: there is nobody better than the communities themselves to solve their own core questions, demands and needs. The full rules are in the fund regulations (PDF, in Portuguese). Casa Hacker was born from a peripheral collective in the Campo Grande district, and has believed ever since that peripheral leadership on social impact causes is essential to the future of the district’s sustainable development.
It was from that cycle that came, for example, the book “Dandara: Somos Poesia” by the Coletivo Literário Dandara Somos (in Portuguese): writing circles of women from the territory that became a published work with a push from the hub — launched at Casa dos Anjos itself.

Where to find the hub
The hub operates at Casa Maria de Nazaré – Casa dos Anjos unit: R. Ondina Moreno de Lima, 546 – Mezanino – Jardim Liliza, Campinas – SP, 13058-272. Open Monday to Friday, 2pm to 6pm — come and visit, and turn ideas into concrete action.
